Having successfully run a laser processing business within the microelectronics industry, Nigel co-founded CPL in 1994, to offer a highly adaptive and expert resource to the emerging hi-tech engineering market. Driven by a desire to provide an unrivalled customer experience, Nigel directs the company’s commercial activities and has a watching brief over customer service and quality.

Founder of Cambridge Precision Ltd (CPL), Richard is a successful entrepreneur, philanthropist and polymath. Qualified as a Manufacturing Engineer, he is engaged in numerous commercial, educational and voluntary endeavours to promote and support manufacturing, engineering and innovation. After completing a Master’s degree at UCL, he went up to Oxford to read for a MSt in the History of Design.
He believes that “The impossible can be achieved when freedom of design, partners with the strict principles of engineering and modern technological capability.”
Tony has been with the company since 1995, and has been key to shaping the culture of the business and developing capabilities. He believes that everything in business is about trust and confidence. This commitment to customer collaboration has seen Tony’s career develop hand in hand with CPL’s evolution into a global manufacturing asset.
“Partnership is the only basis on which you can really build good business relationships. We need to put ourselves in the shoes of our clients and work with them to overcome design, delivery, stock management issues and ensure that our production is spot-on.”
Nick has worked with CPL since 1995, joining initially as a CNC Miller, to then become the section leader for the company’s very first machining centre. He is now one of the four key strategic managers of the business, having studied with the CMI and then completing an MBA. Nick is a “chartered manager”, (the highest level of CMI accreditations), having built upon his practical experience with management training to complement his ONC and HNC engineering qualifications.
